Awesome! I like trying to read recipes in languages that I don’t really understand. I only knew about this Spanish foodblog: http://www.xvegano.blogspot.com/ but now that I look at it, I’m not sure if it really is Spanish. It doesn’t look like it’s updated anymore, either…

That dude’s blog is in Portuguese–pretty impressive if he’s Brazilian, since that place is like all meat all the time.

This is GREAT! With the Google web page translator I can practice and learn the language and actually cook these foods! I’ve been bouncing between the original and translated page to see how much (or little) I remember from high school. Thanks so much for putting this together!

I want to make pizza dough from VWAV, but I don’t have any cornmeal. I was wondering if I HAD to have it or is there something else I could do, maybe replace it with something I have or not use it at all? What’s the purpose in sprinkling the pizza pan with it?

Oh yeah, I totally hear you. The foreign language vegan blogs seem to come up with entirely different menu items, flavor profiles, and ingredients than I ever think of on my own. It’s awesome.

This inspires me to make a website with purely Mexican vegan recipes, in English for the Anglophone-vegan world to benefit. So often folks don’t get into the great Pre-Columbian (read:less meat) foods of Mexico: whether they are squash flowers, cactus paddles (?nopales!), or chayote.

Heck, I have a soy ceviche recipe that has fooled so many a marisco-eating Mexican!

Wow great! What a coincidence that I am currently studying abroad in Spain and have been looking for Spanish language food-blogs! I am Seville with a very understanding host-mom who feeds me lots of vegetables, and also have stumbled across a decent amount of vegan options, along with looks of “crazy american doesn’t want iberian ham?!??!! wtf?!?!” but I have managed fine, and will be making many of the dishes when I get home (if anyone knows a spanish style vegan spinach croquettes recipe let me know. I tried them at a restaurant where the server told me there were no eggs or milk, but at all the others I was told there was so either that restaurant was an exception, my server was an idiot or lying or both, but anyway, they are pretty good and I am sure veganizable), I also recommend the espinaca con garbanzos and gazpacho…mmmmmm….

I don’t know any Spanish, but whatever is in that picture looks yummy!
