67) Vintage Spatula

Those big plasticky rubbery spatulas are only good for playing spatula tennis. If you use them to flip food that requires browning, unless you’re using a ton of oil, all they will manage to do is separate your food from its lovely browned surface. A thin metal spatula gets under the food, preserving all that browning or breading, thus keeping the flavor intact. It’s such an important tool and so often overlooked! And for pennies you can acquire one at a thrift store, with an adorable granny handle. Or for a few bucks more, you can purchase one new. But the handle won’t be nearly as cute.
