Vegan Chocolate Cheesecake
Submitted by Ava
prep time: 15 minutes | cooking time: 35-60 mins | makes 4-6 servings
I'm not exactly a vegan, but I am a vegetarian who happens to love chocolate and vegan desserts. So I found a vegan cheesecake recipe online and altered it making it more my own. This cheesecake is very simple and good, even my dad (who can't stand anything vegan loves it).
Equipment:
Pie Tin
Blender

Ingredients
1 Block of Silken Tofu (drained)
1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust (follow the directions on the box)
1 cup chocolate soymilk
1/3 a cup cocoa powder
1/2 a cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*optional 1/4 a cup chocolate chips
*Optional garnish with strawberrys

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut block of tofu into small chunks and put into the blender. Add the soymilk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder and blend well until there are no large chunks of tofu. If you'd like add chocolate chips. Once all are combined pour into the pie crust and bake for 35-60 mins (depeneding on your oven) or until the top appears solid. Chill for 1-2 hrs before serving. Garnish with Strawberrys.

This didn't turn out to be like the cheezecake that I remember. It turned out more like a chocolate cream pie. It was a great chocolate cream pie, but when I made the recipe I was hoping for chocolate cheezecake, so it was a little disappointing.

this was the really good cheesecake (and as another person said even my meateating friends loved it)

BUT
It is a lot better if you cook it on a lower heat for a few hours until the top is solid.
AND
because I couldn't get graham cracker stuff because i'm from England I had to use hobnobs and by using a bit of butter and brown sugar (its really yummy but dont use too much sugar as its VERY sickly).

thank you x

I make this often for dinner parties-and everyone loves it! Even the meateaters!
