Mushroom Marinara Sauce
Submitted by Isa
prep time: 5 minutes | cooking time: 30 minutes | makes 1 quart
Mushrooms add mucho flavor to Basic Marinara Sauce. You will never want to buy a jar of Prego again. Note: making the Basic Marinara Sauce will add an hour cooking time to this sauce.
Equipment:
large skillet

Ingredients
Basic Marinara Sauce
10 oz cremini mushrooms (baby bellas), sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the mushrooms and coat well with oil. Let them cook for about 15 minutes, flipping them only occasionally. Add garlic and saute 3 minutes, being careful that garlic doesn't burn.

Follow direction 1-3 in Basic Marinara Sauce. Pour sauce into skillet and simmer for 15 minutes.
