My New Video Series: Make It Vegan!

Make It Vegan

I am so so so excited to share my new video series with you. We filmed 10 episodes of Make It Vegan in Brooklyn over the summer and it was so very fun and, you know, NOT STRESSFUL AT ALL. The videos were created by James Beard Award-Winning production company, Zero Point Zero. They produce a few little shows like Mind Of A Chef and Parts Unknown, so, uh, no big deal! It was such an honor to work with them.

I tried really hard not to sound like an infomercial in the videos, but it was honestly tough at times because I do use and love their stuff. Right. On to the videos! We have three available now, and 7 more coming next week. I’ll put all the recipes up here on The PPK in the next few days so that you can totally follow along. I hope you love them! Even though they are short and sweet, we tried to pack each ep with info, laughter, and delicious delicious food. Let me know what you think!

    My boyfriend got me the new cookbook for Christmas. I love it! The illustrations and fonts are great! We made the Lemon Garlic FAVA beans the other night – wow very stick to your ribs plus I don’t cook much with fava beans they were wonderful!     Isa, you rock! i made your queso cashew recipe for new years and fooled everyone! The grilled ramen is next on the list, looks better than even a bowl of meat laden Vietnamese Pho… I am hardly a vegan and do not aspire to be, but I love cooking and incorporating more veggies recently. Post punk is the most inspiring cooking site I’ve seen in months, please take that as a compliment from this omnivore. More veggies for me!

    I’m a huge Breville fan myself — food processor, mixer, ice cream freezer bowl for the mixer. And I am now a huge fan of yours. I now own 3 of your books, and I totally love reading them.     In response to white sugar comments:
    You can have sugar that looks white that is vegan. My sugar is white, but it is completely vegan. *sigh* not all companies use bone char to whiten sugar, in fact it is pretty uncommon now adays and activated carbon is usually used instead, in fact when I asked my company about their process, they said bone char was so outdated and they stopped using it years ago. The best way to figure out the whitening process a company uses is to ask them, but as always, if you don’t know if your sugar is vegan, assume it isn’t.
